Hello,

We have a several young pure breed Icelandic roosters (hatched in May 2017 in Maine). It is a very hardy breed that will lay well in the winter. For more details about this rare breed, please read the Mother Earth News' article about these chickens here: http://www.motherearthnews.com/homesteading-and-livestock/raising-chickens/icelandic-chickens-zm0z14onzkin.aspx#axzz3DVIJBes2.

One interesting trait about this breed is that the females brood and raise their chicks really well. So, if you want to establish a pure breed Icelandic flock, or introduce Icelandic characteristics to your flock such as hardiness and to lengthen the laying season of your laying hens this is the opportunity for you to acquire pure breed Icelandic roosters that were hatched and raised in Maine. All four roosters available have rose combs, meaning they are particularly adapted to the Maine winters.

Please e-mail me if interested. Thanks, Jerome
