Maine Street Meats is a full service butcher shop and specialty food market located in the Midcoast. We are growing our butcher department and seeking a dynamic personality who is conscientious about local food systems with a keen desire to learn about European style seam butchery. The ideal candidate has a background in the culinary arts and working knowledge of retail meat cuts, sausage making, charcuterie, curing and smoking. This position has high visibility, and requires polished customer service skills. Work collaboratively with our team on product development to perfect and expand our line of over thirty house-made specialties. We will provide in-house training in whole animal breakdown and seam butchery. This is a year-round position. Wages commensurate with experience, additional benefits negotiable.
