Hall Brook Farm

COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Hall Brook Farm is a certified organic commercial scale vegetable farm located in Thorndike, Maine - 2019 will mark our 6th year in business. We grow between 7 and 8 acres of produce, with about another 5 acres in cover crop. We also manage between 30 and 40 acres of pasture and hay, which we are slowly working on improving. Livestock are a big part of the picture for us; we really enjoy working with animals but we also feel that they are an integral part of the system we are striving to create. Currently, we have three draft horses which we use to do most of our farm work (though we do employ tractors as well), and a couple of milk cows and their offspring. We also raise some pigs every year and have some layers as well.
Though, we certainly strive for diversity on our farm, the produce is definitely the focus. We sell our produce exclusively through wholesale markets in the Portland area. We focus on growing a handful of vegetable crops in order to maintain the highest quality possible, increase efficiency and meet our markets needs.
The crew at Hall Brook Farm enjoys a fast-paced, efficient, team-oriented work environment.
