Hi all, I'm relocating to the Orono area in September after finishing my residency in the B.A. Culinary program at New England Culinary Institute. To finish the program, we complete a 9 month internship. Because I'm new to the area, I would love some advice on where to look and who to talk with. The Extension Office has been very helpful already in passing my name and resume around. I'm interested food education especially, with kids and adults. School gardens, farm-to-school programs, and other similar programs are of deep interest to me. I'm also skilled in preservation (canning, drying, sausage-making, etc.) and would love to help a farm create value-added products. Ideally, I'm looking for an full-time paid job, but it can be unpaid (although I'd only be able to do that part-time). I'd appreciate any guidance toward organizations or programs doing great community work! Please check out my website at http://butherbean.weebly.com to learn more about me and download my resume. Thanks so much and I'll see some of you in a couple of weeks at Common Ground! Caroline |
