Stubborn Ox Farm is a joint venture between Dylan Brown and Laura McLaughlin, two obstinate, independent, and creative forces brought together by their previous farming endeavors. They first connected over lunch, eating burritos every week after farmer’s market. This connection flourished into a partnership devoted to the development of a diversified produce enterprise at a scale that the two could manage together. With a tractor. This is the first iteration of Stubborn Ox Farm, a one acre operation on leased land in Brooks, ME. Their property is an off-grid, permaculture oasis complete with medlar trees, raspberry brambles, and porcupine infested woods. Stubborn Ox Farm can be found at the United Farmer’s Market of Belfast and trials various crops for Fedco Seeds.
